My field of research is the history of Science and ideas, my main interest is in information-revolutions and the way world-systems interact and inform each other. I earned my PhD at the STS (Science Technology and Society) graduate program at Bar Ilan University, writing my dissertation under Prof. Raz Chen Morris and Prof. Silvan (Sam) Schweber, titled Absent Knowledge: The Impact of Information Theory on 20th Century Physics. I followed up this work in postdoctoral research at Hebrew University’s Edelstein Center and BGU’s Jacques Loeb Center, expanding on the influence Information-laden science has had on chemistry and biology, as well as its conceptual foundations.
I have taught history of science, technology and medicine at Bar-Ilan University, Hadassah Medical School, Machon Magid (HUJI) and Shenkar College.
I am fascinated by transitions in styles of reasoning and paradigmatic structures; one such emerging style is the Information-age and its influence on science and society. Many aspects of life and science are now only expressible through the emerging and developing informational language. New ideas come to the fore and old ones get refocused and reformulated in this manner in exciting new ways.
